INTRODUCTION-
-Building character by looking at a set of objects.
PERSONA-to define a particular character is often referred to persona.
INFER-To make out a meaning from an evidence.
INFERING-Drawing conclusion from evidence and reasoning.
WARM-UP-
-We were shown a set of different objects and were told to analyse and list down the characteristics of the person who these objects must belong.
INFERENCES THAT WE CAME UP WITH-
OXIDIZED NECKPIECE-women, age 20+, subtle taste, ethnic
OXIDIZED HAIR PIN-long hair, stylish, has a personal choice of buying, daily wear
I PHONE-brand conscious, expensive taste, social taste
COLOURFUL BINDI'S-maybe married, Indian context
KAJAL- stylish
BLACK HEELS- short heighted, mature, shows the personal buying behaviour
In conclusion we reached that the women is around 26-28 years old, and wears Indian/ethnic clothes and is working.
MAIN ACTIVITY-
-For the main activity we were given around 10 objects which belonged to a real person, it was similar to the warm up, we had to look at each object and give inferences along with the reasoning, in the end we had to create a whole profile of the person that we guessed it to be.
Objects given to us-
1.Lambert
2.Novel
3.heart pouch
4.cross-word
5.heart locket
6.table tennis racquet
7.guitar pick
8.eye mask
9.neck pillow
10.hair band
INFERENCES WE CAME UP WITH-
-We as a group decided to look at each object individually and make inferences. We all did it together so that it is faster and we get to know each other's point of view. Also, it would reduce our time of revisiting each other's points after everyone was done.
After combining all our inferences we reached to the following conclusion:
The character came out really well and the feedback we received from sir and ma'am was positive. They also said that we were 95% accurate which was very impressive.
REFLECTION-
-It was fun looking at different objects and making inferences, what I enjoyed the most was the group discussion we were having for every object.
-I wondered that how we as humans tend to judge people merely how they dress up or things they do or like.
-This activity also reminded me of the activity Challenging assumptions, though we were not challenging any assumptions here but somewhere or the other we were making some assumptions regarding the character.
I learnt that how an object/thing can tell you so much about a person's character.
I was amazed to see everybody's work, almost everyone got up to 90% accuracy.
I liked group one's presentation the most, their character was around 98% accurate, which was quite impressive, also I really liked how they placed everything together, it looked very aesthetically appealing, even the main character sketch was worth praising.
LEARNING MANTRA-
-Its all about observing, learning and following your inner instincts.
