Chosen spread-

I chose this spread to begin with as I really liked the use of the long vertical image on the right.

Redesigned spread-

Learnings and Realisations-

  • Got a hang of the indesign software.

  • Understood a bit about composition and layouting.

  • learnt that different layout designs convey different messages to the audience- For example a Fashion magazine can have a lot images text here and there and can do without a lot negative space but for a home decor magazine, there has to be enough negative space, and breathing space.

  • to craft a design that demonstrates a thoughtful understanding of design elements and principles while exploring space and form creatively.

  • Layouting could have been better.

  • Should have avoided the slant text, which is kind of creating a distraction.

  • Overall, I was trying to have more fun and try out what works what not!

  • I tried another one wherein I followed a better lay outing and arrangements along with having fun!

PROJECT LEARNINGS AND REALISATIONS-

  • learnt how to communicate ideas, emotions, and stories through images, layout, typography, and design.

  • learn how to curate and edit content. This involved selecting artworks, articles, and features that align with the magazine's theme and mission.

  • This project also taught me skills like planning, budgeting, group dynamics and meeting deadlines.

  • Most important part of designing a magazine involves understanding the target audience of it, as this then leads to the whole idea, content and design, undrstanding what the reader wants to read or see.
